Fundamentals of Entrepreneurial Finance for New and Emerging Businesses will guide students in learning how to manage a new or emerging business firm from a financial point of view. By "emerging firm," we mean a business that is trying to grow from an embryonic stage into a larger firm. Many emerging firms fit into the category of what are popularly called "middle-market" firms.
There are over two million so-called middle-market companies in America that could be included in what are here called "emerging business firms." Contrast that with the less than 25,000 publicly held companies in the United States. Admittedly, these publicly held firms account for a major share of the nation's Gross Domestic Product, but there is another world of businesses that exists, and this is the world that is addressed here.
